I'll give u the level of mentality at UPC
I've had the service for nearly 2 years, my account was over by 16euro on last months bill, was disconnected this morning!

Was on the phone this morning and they're demanding to be paid up until April 14th!!
It's high time the national consumer agency got involved and demand that when services are cut the most the service provider can demand is the amount for service until the point of disconnection!

The 16 euro owed is actually a 10euro late fee and a 5 euro non direct debit fee

Should post this is the upc forum, they might be able to do something for you there.

I can't seem to post there, it gives me an error when I click post to group!

these browser compatibility issues are a real pain in the neck!

with regard to the actual broadband itself, I had the 150 MB service, it seemed no faster than my mothers basic 50MB service though!

It always hangs half way through youtube videos! And I'm not sure if its because its a rival service, I always found it slow to downloand ondemand programs on my sky box in that it will pause a few minutes into a program while waiting for it to connect....

I'm gonna try sky's 24mb service, it might actually work better....

They disconnected you for a piddling amount of money so you publicise the fact on an internet forum.

Their accounts receivable department will be pleased, the more people who read your posts, the less likely they will be late paying their UPC bill.

    Mission accomplished.

OP this is probably the most sensible piece of advice here. You need to deal directly with UPC on this - there's not a lot else we can tell you here.

I'm going to close this since its likely to either morph into a general UPC bashing thread or full of people telling you the same as the above
