Have been finding TuneIn too temperamental lately, keeps quitting, buffering, trying to connect, so much so that it's impossible to listen to it.

(that's even on full signal and wireless).

So can anybody recommend a good alternative radio app?

    Thanks :)

Do you use a custom rom by any chance? I've had the buffering problem ever since I moved over to cyanogenmod but it's solved by going into the TuneIn apps options and disabling screen lock.

    I actually don't know!

I'll have a look at my settings now and see.

But I have never changed settings, just did whatever updates when they were available.

It can be a bit buggy you sometimes have to just shut the app down, even if acting up sometimes , it's still miles better than anything out there . Not too mention combined with a VPN it's nirvana for BBC sports.

I always listen to BBC R5L at weekends, but when the commentary of the PL comes on, it plays segments from years ago saying (this part of the programme is not available in your area).

    Any way around that?

Use TuneIn on a Galaxy S3 on Three and never have a problem with lagging and dropout.

I've been having issues too with TuneIn lately, I thought it was signal issues (buffering, looping or plain not working), especially as the native apps of the station I use it for do pretty much the same (Today FM and Newstalk).

Use it for BBC and NPR stations and its always solid, I havent tried it on Irish ones as I use DAB or FM for those.

It's at commute time that I need to use 3G streaming, at home I use FM.
