Emergency Dental Fees - medical card?

    Hi,

    My dentist charges 150 for an emergency appointment, however I have a medical card. Will this be covered or will I have to pay? I already had a check up this year.

    What did you have done?
    A medical cad covers you for 2 fillings a year. I think that's it??

    I have only made the appointment - nothing done yet.

    But it's most likley going to be a wisdom tooth extraction. So only the two fillings and nothing else.

    On the medical card you are entitled to extractions as you need them for free & 2 fillings per year

    hi all
    friend of mine was getting out a few teeth and got two out so far fre on the medical card and was told it would be E 40 each for the remainder even though hse site says extractions as nessary are free she rang other dentists in the area and they were basicaly the same ,ie charge something after the first two extractions son not sure what to think now

    Either your friend has mixed up fillings and extractions or the area you live in has a group of dentists deciding to make their own rules. All extractions are free, no limit on number. Fillings limited to two per year (one per five year term on each particular tooth)

    or maybe its just patients talking ****e as they usually do. I'm waiting for the knee on the chest stories next.
