Using Dishwasher Salt

    Hey,

I have a question for you.

I just filled the dishwasher with salt (rock salt), a 3kg bag bought from tesco.

I have now filled up my salt grinder from the same bag.

The ingredients in the back for the bag says its is just salt nothing else.

Is this safe?, google.com gives some hits that say dont but no actual reason?

Food safety advice should not be asked for nor given in this forum. Closed.

Edit: Contact the manufacturer & see what they have to say. Chances are the product was prepared in a facility that did not need to meet strict food safety standards. So, while the ingredients may say just "Salt", be prepared for traces of rodent faeces, fly eggs, spider legs, etc, etc to be present.
