Hi all, just wanted to get opinions on the following set..

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B004QL7QJW?vs=1

I know these compete sets are frowned upon but for 90e would they be a good deal?

Just getting in to golf so they'd be used for a round every 2 weeks and driving range once a week.

Looks good value to me. No point spending a huge amount until you are sure you'll keep playing for years

Had a set of Ben Sayers when I started out.Still have the putter and won't change it anytime soon.
Good starter set for that price.

Mcguirks have a couple of secondhand iron sets for 70 in leopards town that would probably be better quality clubs...
but for a full beginner set with bag, woods etc you can't really go too wrong for 90

So it looks like they have just shot up 100 quid.. bit gutted I didn't just buy them yesterday. What are people's thoughts on this set:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00A0RGSKO/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1364807682&sr=8-3&pi=SL75

Would they be as good as the first set?

With a driver and hybrid,6 irons(I'm assuming 5-PW) putter and bag it's a grand starter set.
Would've preferred the Ben Sayers, but that's only cos I've never played with the Spaldings.

I got a Ben Sayers rescue club a few years ago. I hadnt used a recue club before so i wasnt sure if i wanted to go down that route so i said id just buy a cheap one to experiment with.

I have a Taylormade RBZ rescue now but i still use the Ben Sayers from time to time. Its a great club. To be honest i hit the Ben Sayers every bit as well as the RBZ
