    Help with law essay required!!!!!!!!

The Board of Directors of Limerick-based Equine Ltd (which produces a range of beef products) has decided to cut employee numbers in order to bolster the company’s falling profits.
Reggie, who has worked as a forklift driver for the company for the last seven years, was summoned to a meeting with the Board. It was noted that, as a result of back injuries sustained in the incident, for the previous four months, Reggie had not been able to work more than three days in a row driving the forklift. He had been working two days a week in the warehouse.
The Board also informed Reggie that his performance had not been matching up to that of the other forklift drivers, who, the Board told him, had all achieved degrees in Forklift Studies. Reggie was never aware such a degree existed and had never been asked by Choctastic Ltd to achieve this qualification.
After three hours, the meeting ended. Reggie went straight to the staff canteen, where there are several computers for staff use. He logged on to facebook and posted the following message:
‘Just had a grilling from those morons from head office. They really are thick. They know nothing about what happens here and most of em are on the take anyway. Some of em smell funny too’.
Reggie had intended to post this on his own (private) facebook account, but in error, and unbeknownst to him, he posted it on the company’s (public) account.
The following day he was summoned to another meeting and informed that he was being dismissed.

Reggie feels he has been dismissed unfairly and seeks your advice as to his chances of bringing a successful claim under the Unfair Dismissals Acts 1977-2007. Include in your answer a discussion of the remedies available to Reggie, if his claim is successful.

    Any advice guys?

Read the unfair dismissals act and any book so. Employment law that you have access to. That'll give you the basics and then you will know how to approach the question .

Read employment books. Avoid anything more than a passing comment on the defamation as its a red herring. Stick closely to a discussion on unfair dismissals law.
