Hi guys , the cat knocked our 6 year old laptop and smashed it:( so now we need a new one.

it will only be doing very basic things like surfing the net , watching dvd's and downloads , youtube , and some undemanding custom software for car diagnostics and home heating system

i have a 4000 euro desktop system that could handle the apollo space program for anything demanding , so i dont need anything fancy in my laptop:) , only thing id like is a 17 inch screen. while ii know a good bit about desktops i know nothing about the laptop market so could anyone give any advice on what laptop or even what brand to look for , budget would be a max of 600 , hopefully less

    Thanks Guys

Found a Dell Inspiron 5720 for €499 with free shipping worldwide from Dell website. Then use this code 1M?GB72QJ?DW3C to bring it down to €439

Has a 17" screen with a 3rd gen i5 and HD 4000 graphics. Don't think you'll do much better than that.
