Holy crap this is very sad only 24 poor Ric.

    http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=76485
Reid Flair, the youngest son of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, has passed away, PWInsider.com has sadly confirmed. He was only 24 years old. Reid was seen in the latter days of WCW, where both he and his father had their head shaved in an angle by Vince Russo. He later began training as a pro wrestler under Bobby Eaton and George South, but personal issues, including a heroin arrest, sidetracked what was expected to be instant stardom for Reid, who had an excellent amateur pedigree.
At one point, he was slated to debut with Ring of Honor when the promotion was owned by Cary Silkin, but the arrest caused ROH to back off on those plans. That led to the beginning of the end of their relationship with Ric Flair.
Since then, there had been talk of Reid going to WWE developmental and the company had taken a look at him, but didn't sign him to a contract. He had worked in All Japan this past January and was slated to make appearances with Ric this weekend in Maryland.
Our deepest condolences to the Flair family during what can only be described as a tragic, sad day.

I know it's not right, but I'm nearly prepared for older wrestlers, post 50 years of age, to be reported dead.

But 24? Jesus, he was younger than I am? Thats just shocking...

Just really sad. Likely yet another case of a child of a famous parent that had issues living up to their parent's legacy. Ric was away from home Wrestling but always made the effort to fly back to his son's Amateur Wrestling meets when Ric was in WCW. But Ric's lifestyle and drama surrounding it can't have set a good example during Reid's teenage and young adult years. Can't imagine the amount of parasites in the Carolinas who would want to leach off his Dad's fame too. All that said drug addiction can strike across the board and who knows what goes on behind close doors.

    Terrible news.

Ric seemed to be somehow able to live a party mad lifestyle yet emerge the other side without any destructive drug addictions we see other wrestlers crippled with, but it certainly was not a good example as he said so himself in his book... he said something along the lines that if his kids emulated his work ethic he'd be proud, but disappointed if they copied other parts of his life.

But then again the guy was 24 and responsible for himself and we dont know the details yet. Anything could have caused this tragedy.

And I wouldnt blame Ric one bit no matter what, he seemed to try his best with all of his kids.

    :(:(

CHARLOTTE, NC 3/29/13 - The following is an official statement from Ric Flair's agent, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment: "We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric's son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today March 29, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time."

The popular theory is that Reid came back from Japan after being clean for two months with his tolerance lowered and then OD'd on heroin.

    Poor Ric
The Charlotte Observer reported that Richard Reid Fliehr, 25, was found dead at a Residence Inn where he and Ric had been staying this morning.

Police were called at 10:35 a.m. about an unresponsive person in the hotel room on Piedmont Row Drive South. His cause of death will be determined in an autopsy.

Those close to the situation have said that Ric Flair found his son this morning unresponsive. He called police and Reid was pronounced dead at the scene when they arrived.

He had been staying in Japan until the March 17th show at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, when the tour ended. A friend of his father's in Japan, who spoke to Reid at the show, informed us that he was enjoying himself in Japan but said he was looking forward to going home in between tours.

The only official statement, by Melinda Morris Zanoni, Flair's agent and publicist, was that, "We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric's son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today, March 29, 2013, in Charlotte, NC. The investigation into the cause of death is ongonig. Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric Flair and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time."

Yeah. I feel much worse for Ric. I can't imagine what it's like to find your youngest son unconscious and him passing. Whatever Reid went through, it's over now. His burdens become the burden of his surviving family. RIP Reid. His family have my sincerest sympathy.
