Would Joe Duffy put you off organ donation?

I've seen his mug advertising organ donor awareness week. Would his involvement put you off signing that donor card? Talk to Joe, I mean, After Hours.

    That's a bit mean.

I am no fan of Joe Duffy but he has been campaigning for Organ Donation for years.

Imagine not having a life saving operation in time, because someone didn't donate their Organs because they don't like Joe Duffy.

Only if there was a chance of getting his face after he died.

He'd probably get another pay rise.

He's unpopular enough as it is. :P

Seriously, who would reverse their decision to be an organ donor, or turn down a life-saving operation, as a result of the person fronting the campaign?

He's only the messenger ,the request he's sending out is far more important than any personality regardless of their popularity or lack of .

Guess it ties in perfectly his obsession with illness, sadness and all things "death".

Hate Joe Duffy, not the person who needs an organ to stay alive.

This is his third year doing it, one of which was a record year for donation. So it looks like a general no.

If you're put off by someone's endorsement you may not have thought about it deeply enough in the first place.

If Joe's mug can draw attention to the issue of organ donation even by virtue of the fact that he annoys you then it can only be a good thing surely?

I'm no great fan of Joe Duffy and his champagne socialist viewpoints, but this is a worthy and noble cause and using his extremely high-profile public image to endorse it can only be a good thing.

He, and the entire campaign, should be commended.

The son of a man I know well was murdered on the streets of Dundalk. He carried a donor card. Now five people's lives have improved because of it.

I wouldn't donate if I knew it was going to Joe Duffy.
