Really looking forward to this even if that trailer has already destroyed any mystery about the ending of Sunset, but then I'm sure people felt the same when the trailer to that came out too!

Did the sequel need a sequel? (I'm guessing many will say the same about the original film)

They could be cashing in every 10 years from now on till the characters die!

Opening in the states this weekend, any idea when it's out here?

From what I've seen the reviews indicate it maintains the quality of the first two! :)

Out here on 21st June I believe - that's the UK release anyway, and both the Lighthouse and IFI have it in their 'coming in June' sections of their May programmes.

I nearly managed to avoid trailers, but saw one before a film today. Oh well, that's the first thirty seconds of the film ruined!

Anyone know if this will be showing in galway at all?

It'll be out longer than the 30th, its a high profile release. IFI just don't update their schedule until very near the end of the month. Lighthouse are showing it too, and they're really good for keeping a film playing for an extra week or two (more if its popular enough).

Can't wait until tomorrow evening. Been a long nine years.

Saw it today - loved it and want to see it again - funny, truthful and real. A modern classic. Hubby and I have known one another 18 years so it adds to the poignancy for us. Great movie.

A beautifully warm-hearted, rich and witty film, the rare effort that reminds you of the power of the great sequel. Such a welcome opportunity to spend time with these characters again, and join them for another half day of conversations and insight.

Jesse tries to persuade us its not all about time, but all the detail, turmoil, disappointments and joy of the the undocumented decade come across on-screen. I honestly can't think of an on-screen couple with the same naturalness and credibility - even when they're furious with each other, there's such passion and love bubbling underneath the surface. Really, Linklater wouldn't have to do more than just point the camera towards Hawke and Delpy shooting the **** and he'd probably have solid gold. Their banter is just so dynamic and hilarious (so many lines that had almost the entire cinema laughing, and with good cause).

The film may just be three or four extended conversations, but there's such drama and depth in the words. They couldn't have chosen a better location than Greece, the millennia of visible and invisible history perfectly suited to the film's frequent references to mortality, transience and ultimately resilience.

Barely a bad word I can say about with it. 'Twas an absolute pleasure. If this is the end of these most honestly romantic of brief encounters, the characters have been sent out in glory (could have said the same about Sunset). If they're back in 2023, well I'll be first in line.

Expect it to play there in a few weeks. Smaller releases such as this usually pop up in the Eye after finishing in Dublin

Really must get to see this. Sunrise has never left my "all time top 5" and it certainly wasn't unusual for me to use it as part of my ham-fisted attempts at seduction in my college years!

Have to keep a promise to a 7 year old about Man of Steel tomorrow but I'll find a way to see this some time next week.

It's significantly shorter than Man of Steel, so if you happen to find a cinema that has the films conveniently showing at the same time, you could always take a really long toilet break ;)

It's cool to leave 7 year olds alone for two hours, right?

A brilliant film, making this the only trilogy I can think of in which each film is really good and distinctive.

The film shows in brilliant detail with strong realism a powerful but complicated romance. The banter between Celine and Jesse is brilliant, especially Celine's who occasionally makes jokes that go past the line of normal good taste while still remaining charming. Some of the lines had the audience burst out laughing, very rare in a film where none of the jokes are aimed directly at the audience. The film feels like watching the lives of two people for several days more than watching a film.

Celine and Jesse have very good lives in many ways, firmly middle class, have successful careers and are in a loving relationship, but they are painfully aware of the passage of time and of their own mortality. Jesse is worried of how his son is growing up without him and Celine of aging and death. They struggle with how their desires contrast with the reality of their lives.

It would be quite interesting to see another film in ten years time, when the couple have grown up children and are facing late middle age. Or perhaps even a film in three or four years showing how they keep their relationship going, with less conflict.

Easily the best film so far this year. Rarely has such a raw and passionate love being depicted in film.

Caught this yesterday in galway. Brilliant film, really can't say enough good things about it. It felt like catching up with old friends.

This is as different from Sunset as Sunset was from Sunrise but just like Sunset it's no less romantic in it's own way. If they decide to do another one in 9 years then I look forward to catching up with Celine and Jesse again.

I was impressed with it. To be honest, the last one was a bit of a dip for me. I always thought that Delpy's 'Two Days in Paris' was how she wanted it to be...and to be honest I had hoped for something like that...heavy language barrier, misunderstandings, etc. What we got in Before Midnight was something completely different. The dialogue was intense at times. I think I will have to watch it again to catch it all. Celine seems to be a different person every time I see her...deeper in personality and insecure. Jesse on the other hand has slowly become a bit of a douche but they complement each other very well.

I heard this will be the last one but they are always saying that. I am sure there will be another one in 10 years.
