    Hey all,im the owner of a cannon 400d with a sigma 70-300.
Have recently been given a vivitar lens which is pretty old school and fairly heavy.Anyway as my current camera and this new lens aren't compatible i was wondering could anyone here suggest a cheap/old digital camera which would accept the Vivitar fd lens.

I'd nearly say try and sell it rather than go spending money trying to get use out of it, as you have most of the focal length covered. On your 400D with its crop factor the long end of 200 becomes 320mm.

I bought a similar Clubman 70-200 for a modest price, along with an adapter for use with my Olympus micro4/3 camera. Here the long end becomes 400mm equivalent, and it is my only zoom lens.

I'd say have a look on Adverts for similar 70-200 or 70-210 manual lenses and list it for similar. Not sure if this is your model, but there's some more reading here: http://www.kenrockwell.com/vivitar/70-210mm.htm and here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/canonfd/discuss/72157623236084576/

Can't comment too much on quality, but I'm quite happy with what my old manual 70-200 f/4.5 produces:
