N81 or M9

Ok - so commuting from Baltinglass to Clondalkin; which is the best route - M9 or N81? The N81 seems more direct but having driven it 4/5 times over the past week I suspect it is the most frustrating road in the Republic of Ireland.

According to googlemaps, both the N81 and the M9 should supposedly take the same time. It really depends on the times that you'll be commuting.
