    Hey guys,

I put together my first build yesterday and I'm having troubles with it.

When i try to boot up I get 4 beeps, i've looked it up and saw that it's a system timer failure?

Anyways, I took one of the sticks of ram out and the beeps went away still nothing was being displayed and it wasn't posting.

So I took the video card out radeon hd7950 and tried the vga into the port at the back.

It booted and managed to get into bios?

Anyone got any ideas on whats wrong and how to fix it?

Are you sure you connected the additional power to the graphics card?

    Should be an 8 pin and a 6 pin for a 7950.

there's two 6pin connectors and they're both in.

Most likely a ram issue. What are the full specs and the power supply?

I managed to install windows using the dedicated video card, since then both of the ram sticks are being accepted.

The only thing now is the graphics card. Everything is running i.e the fans.

I'm getting output now too but it's saying its standard vga and not the gpu

    intel core i5 3570k
    asrock zz7 pro 3
    ram is 2 8gb g skill ddr3 ram
psu is be quiet system power 7 600w

Output from what? What is it connected to? Have you installed graphics drivers?

got everything sorted, it happened to be a driver issue.

there was another issue with one of the sticks of ram. Can i get a replacement from HWVS?
