ATMs - Argentina

Im having trouble withdrawing money from the ATMs over here, im only able to withdraw 1000 pesos, roughly 150e which is a bit of a pain considering im been charged 5e a pop for each transaction. Im with PTSB, ive tried varies different banks but seems to be the same story. I was here 2 years ago and was able to use my visa debit card fine as far as i remember. Anyone else in Argentina having any problems like this? Ive emailed PTSB but theres hardly anything they can do on their end...Any suggestions? i was thinking maybe if i transfered money from my current account on to my visa card i might be able to withdraw more money this way?

Thought this was always the norm over there for years?

Think it's a per transaction limit, so re-insert your card and take another 1000 out, don't do it too many times in a row or your card may be flagged as it may look suspicious

Also, don't hold our breath re an email reply from ptsb(or any bank). Best thing to do is go to an Internet shop and Skype them during their working hours, remember its a bank holiday until Tuesday am

Well yes, there are limits here but i know with local atm cardholders it 7000 pesos. Could well be a case of a restrictions on withdrawing money with a foreign atm card, il have to suss that out next week i suppose.
