hi guys I want to pick your brains for a moment. what i'm asking probably isn't possible but hear me out.

i've been commuting from swords to town on a bmx for the month of march for charity and I really like how the bike feels. I just got back on my hybrid for the first time the other day and it feels like a barge in terms of handling.

what could you guys recommend in a bike that will be as twitchy as a bmx but have more speed (im doing my run to town in about 45 mins which isn't all that bad) do I go the road bike route? flat bar roadie looks fun or go single speed so I can still get the kick out of struggling up hills

thanks for reading and look forward to your advice

You need a Raleigh Bomber or a Grifter.

    Vitus Vee-1 29'er. It's like a bmx on steroids.

The 26 inch one is more BMX-like.

I found the 26" feels like another decent SS mountain bike, but the 29'er is a bit bolder and more fun to ride around the city. Maybe just my imagination.

I remember seeing on here that somebody built a bike with a mountain frame but had road bars on it. Remember thinking that it would be cool to have a go off it.
I imagine that would be twitchy.

On One Inbred 26er with a 420mm fork instead of the regular 440mm one, short stem, should do it. Just try make the top tube measurement +stem length equal to your most comfortable bike and you'll be near enough happy. Should be twitchy and low enough to force you onto the pedals for hills

I think the culprit may also have posted in this thread.
