    Hi all,

Im thinking of buying THESE lights for my mk5 golf

Before I do I'm just wondering will they pass the NCT, they have the E mark but no reflectors - Can I add additional reflectors to the rear of the car?

Also the lights are red/smoke is this ok?

All I could find in the rules of the road is this ...
    At the back:
Two red lights (commonly known as tail lights)
    Two red brake lights
    Two red reflectors
    Number plate lighting
    Direction indicator lights (amber only)

    Anyone any experience with this?
    Thanks

Reflectors at the bottom of the bumper are in fashion with new cars nowadays, if you could get some OE ones from a mk5 estate I'm sure you could fit them in where the black bit of the bumper meets the coloured bit (may take some cutting)

Would you say stick on reflectors like THESE would do or would they have to be cut in?

What do you think about the colour of the lights red/smoke? any problems would you think?

If you're going to the trouble of making the lights all nice then those yokes will undo any usual improvement.

I don't think you should just lash them on for the nct then take them off again. They're there for a reason.

Can't see a tester having an issue with the lights themselves

It's not that, I sprayed the black bit of the bumper to suit the body colour and dont want to start cutting into it if its not essential

EDIT: also I'd pick nice ones there just a quick search for an example

It'd be more about making a really nice job of it. The LED lights aren't essential either but they'll look nice.

Thanks I'm still undecided on it but leaning towards getting them :)

I think they make the car look like a current model without looking tacky
