I left my nearly 30 year-old analogue watch in my pants pocket and it got run through the wash. It has been drying o nthe radiator for the past 3 days and some of the water is drying up.

However its stopped ticking :( and I'm just wondering if there is any chance to revivie it or is it ruined for good? If so, how much do you reckon its going t cost to get it back up and running again?

What type of watch is it? Quartz? What brand/model?

Put it in a bag of rice in a warm dry area (hotpress) for a week

You're probably well into the territory of uneconomical repair there. If it has great sentimental value, it would probably be possible to stick a new movement into it but it might cost you €100+.

Hi seven_eleven. I will talk to our service dept about this when we are back at work on Tuesday and send you a PM - you never know, a replacement movement might be available.

Did the watch definitely take in water?

The inside of the screen is all fogged up with waterdroplets so I presume so.

One thing I should mention is that it was still ticking when I took it out of the watch. I placed it on the radiator and about an hour or so later it stopped and hasnt worked since then.

I really appreciate your help :)

Hi again seven_eleven. I just sent you a PM on this - we need a little more information to identify the watch, as per the following guide to caseback numbering:

    http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-ir/support/setting-instructions/

    Kind regards,
    CALCUL.
