    2005

Timing belt was last done at 51,000 miles.

When should it next be done?

How much would I be looking at cost wise for this?

Even a rough estimate would be helpful, thanks

Prices mentioned in this old thread.
    About 500 give or take.

The price from the old thread is out of date. You will get it done cheaper now.

If it is a new shape Octavia with the PD engine don't pay any more than €350 fitted for a full genuine kit and water pump plus alternator belt.

The old shape Octavia uses a different engine and the timing belt kit is more expensive so it may cost €30 or so more.

That's great thanks. I'd be delighted if its around the €350 mark, I was worried it could be double that

Amazing how we were being ripped off for car maintenance during the Tiger years. Timing belt and water pump was a €600 job from a dealer not too long ago. €350 sounds about right from a decent independent.
