    hi,
i posted in krustys log but if anyone else has input much appreciated,
moving from 10km training to half. i know it's not ideal as i've got just over the month to do so.
the plan is 1:19, might be shooting too high as according to the mcmillian calculator, my 10km time would get me just under 1:20 and i have nothing really longer than 10 miles done.

any specific workouts i could use in the next few weeks?
there's not many half marathon plans out there,

    thanks

Your key sessions should be HMP based ones. 4-5 x 2 miles, 3x 5k, 6-7 miles straight- that kind of thing.
Try to push your long run out to 15-16 miles over the next few weekends. Just leave the week before the race as your 'taper', take it nice and easy for the 7 days before.

A month is not giving you a lot of time but the above is how I would approach it.

Thanks menoscemo, those sessions would be done at half goal pace?

It's really the long run, I'm going to change. I'm still keeping to a 10km schedule but upping the milage

Yeah, HMP is your half Marathon goal pace.
Doing 3 or 4 of those sessions will really bring you on. I am not sure that a 10k programme would be specific enough to hit our Half Goal given that endurance is likely to be an issue and that it's a stretch goal based on a 10k.

hi menoscemo, bit of work to be done, went out this morning & after a 4 mile WU did 6 mile at my Current half marathon pace, well it was current 6 months ago for charleville. 6 mile @ 6:10
would not be able to do 6:00 which is planned goal HMP, well a month to try to get there.
got another session from tergats post thanks to krusty so between those suggestions, they will keep me busy
    cheers for advice.

Hi conavitzky, it went well, 1:19:33 so a PB. now it was hard work.

i had done no speed work but a good bit of running a T pace. had a few of the JD Tempo sessions under my belt. think i did as well as i could but was wrecked after it.

Fair play to ya jfh that's a great time. Doing my first half myself in 4 weeks time and hoping I will get a positive outcome from tempos and fast hills. At least no matter how I do it will be a PB!:D As long as I finish! Aiming for sub 1-30 and hopefully better. Reading through peoples training logs certainly an inspiration.
