HTC One X wifi issue

    Hi

My sister recently bought the HTC one x but yesterday the WiFi started to cause issues, it no longer connects or can scan for WiFi spots.

Is there a fix to this or is it a hardware issue, was working fine until yesterday. She said it began when she accidentally hit forget on a network but the WiFi OS totally useless now.

    Thanks

    Is WiFi turned on?

Yes, of course, it doesn't search for WiFi connections and every network is deemed out of range

Did you try turning it off and on?

Had awful issues with my partners One S having the exact same issues.

Only thing I could do to fix was root and flash a custom ROM.
Was probably overkill for the problem but she wanted it done anyway and it worked.

Does it connect to any wireless network? You could try different security types or encryption methods to see if it makes a difference.

There's a known issue with the One X and wifi in some handsets. You can tell if the phone has the problem by squeezing the top right of the phone and if it improves wifi then it has the fault and will be repaired for free. More info here.
