Stacker/Destacker feeding 2 rooms in apt

I am in an apartment wired for UPC. It is wired for UPC with two points in main room and one bedroom. It is just a single feed split to the two rooms.

I will shortly have access to 2 (or more if I need them) satellite LNBs via a shaft running down the centre of the block and I would like to switch to Freesat in both rooms. I cannot lay any cabling internal to the apartment though.

I've heard about Stacker/Destackers. Could this be used to feed 2 sat feeds (one to each room)? I am not bothered about recording facilities.
Could the 2 sat signals be stacked and then destacked separately in each room?

Also if I just had a single sat feed feeding the cabling, would it be possible to watch Freesat in both rooms but not at the same time?
If so, what would I have to do to make this work? If I had one freesat box on standby, would the other freesat box control the satellite?

    Thanks in advance

How will you get access to the LNB feeds if you can't run any new cabling? Will you be using the existing UPC cable to the apartment?

Is this satellite dish installation being managed by the management company? How will you get the Irish channels?

Aerial and Sat dish will be on roof with cables running down middle of building.

I think it is a multiswitch setup so there are several sat feeds available.

From the middle shaft, the apartment is precabled (UPC) with a single wire which is then split at some point between the main room and bedroom.

I have been told I can get Sky+ in the main room using a stacker/destacker. I guess the signal is stacked in the shaft and then destacked at the TV point.

I'm not bothered about Sky+ but would like to get a serpate sat feed into the bedroom as well.
I was also wondering ia a single SAT signal feeding the apartment would be usable in both rooms but not at the same time

I wouldn't be familiar enough with stakers to give any credible advice, the question is who would provide the stacker at the multiswitch end - you or the management co.?

As regards running 2 freesat receivers on single split cable at different times, yes this would be possible.

Depends where UPC cable is split .this is where the destacker has to go and it will need power. Also depends on cable quality and length of run

I hadn't realised the destacker would require power.
Hopefully the split is just inside one of the UPC boxes. Otherwise I'll probably stick with the single feed.

Power only required at de-stacker, ie receiver end.

I had a quick look behind the UPC wall sockets and can't see any splitter.
So it looks like it is buries deep within the wall out of my reach.

I think I'll go with the one satellite feed combined with the Saorview signal.
Hopefully I'll be able to get Freesat in both rooms (though not at the same time).

Worst case, I think I'll get Saorview in the bedroom and Saorview/Freesat in the main room

Why ? Do you not own the apartment ?

Also the internal cabling was installed when the apartment was built. The ownership lies with the unit owner. UPC are only utilising it through a service agreement with the management company which all owners are members of. Likewise any internal cable in common areas. This is owned by the management company. UPC are only utilsing it.

I don't think anyone would stop me laying a second cable internally but the current cable is a very neat job.

Laying an additional cable would involve expense and would probably end up with more cables being visible around the place.
For the hassle, I'll probably stick with a single feed.
