    Hi guys,

The gage on my petrol tank has died on my car. While Im waiting to have it repaired can someone tell me (approx) how many miles per litre the car will do?

    The car:

    BMW 2001
    3 Series Coupe 1.9

Have one of these myself. Depends obviously but 35 mpg with a nice bit of motorway driving, 30 if just normally driving and way less if I drive hard. Average is probably 30 IMO.

I used to have that engine in a saloon and got about 7 miles per litre, give or take. It's gonna depend a bit on the right foot. If you don't have onboard computer and want to find out how you're going, reset the trip counter next time you fill up. Time after that, fill up and see how many litres go in (probably about 55) and compare it with the miles on your trip counter (divide the miles [280, maybe?] by the number of litres/gallons) to see how many miles per litre/gallon you get.
