Have been getting a popup called Adtech on the top right hand side of my browser screen for awhile now. I googled how to remove it and said its "dangerous" to do so unless i know what im doing. Is this a virus? If so, is there a safeway to remove it? My antivirus is up to date and have normal Adblock installed.

I'd be wary of those removal instructions if it says dangerous to remove.
dont download any removal tools, unless you know them.

However It might just be a simple warning to you to be carefull.

This method is fairly straightforward, looks legit, nothing to download, but again it does carry warnings.

Arrgggh neither repsonse is filling me with confidence :p

It's not doing anything bar having an annoying little dropdown box which i thought was telling me what Adblock was doing (which clearly isn't the case). The more i Google...the less i like. :(

I'm as up to date on all this virus malarky as i can be, but this one is stumping me.

Ghostery blocks all that adtech shíte. I'd make sure your lists are up to date on adblock too. Adblock plus btw.

Thats if its ad related. Could be a virus either, if it is then I dunno.

I'm being really annoying (sorry)! :o But my OS is Vista on a 3/4 year Compaq laptop. I haven't gone near Chrome. Does this matter?

I'm the person who heads straight for the "uninstall program", so i need a step-by-step guide here. :pac: Ghostery is asking me to install Chrome.
