    Hi All,

I want to learn how to repair laptops as a hobby mainly.

I have a few old machines I would like to play around with.

What are the essentials to have for all this :).

I mean hardware btw..and where would I pick them up.

    Cheers.

A bunch of different screwdrivers should be all you need really (a good precision set, ideally), assuming you have a replacement piece of hardware when necessary.

    Thanks.

Would I need a multimeter or anything else like that?

A multimeter is a good piece of kit to have. An antistatic wrist strap is also good. You should keep an eye out for a decent screwdriver with detachable heads. The most common bits you will need are a philips head and a torx head. A few different sizes of each are handy to have.

Maplins are doing a really good screw driver set ( think its 35 bit one with security torx etc ) for €13 - reduced from €35

Has came in useful for us on several occasions.
