Advice on using Roland MA-7A Speakers with PC

    Hi All,

I have a set of these:
    http://www.roland.com/products/en/MA-7A/

I was looking to use them as part of a new build PC which has this MoBo:
    ASUS P8Z77-V PRO, Sockel 1155, ATX, DDR3
And No dedicated Sound Card at present.

Should I buy a separate Subwoofer?
How should I connect them up?
Would this set up allow for good, clear, mid-volume sounds (I don't need 5.1 Surround or really Loud Volumes)?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
I've only used them for Laptop/iPod playback so far.

Those don't look to be the best speakers to be honest. You probably would want a sub with them as well, as they're only rated for 90Hz.

I almost always suggest a dedicated card. I think I specced you an Essence STX in your other thread (this should have been asked there, by the way).

I know, and I appreciate the advice. I just want a sound setup to get me off the ground for now. A dedicated card and 5.1 speakers will cost approx €450+ and I can always go down this route in the future.
But considering I'll be using it primarily for RTS and TBS where you are looking down at the playing field, immersive 5.1 surround is pretty low on my list of priorities. If I was using the PC for FPS or RPG, then I'd be considering 5.1.
Just trying to cheap out on this one area for now to allow maximum fundage towards the build and monitor.
Thanks for all the advice though. It's really helped me pick out a LOT of the parts so far :D

These are a good 2.1 pc speaker setup for the money.

Out of stock at the moment though.

yeah I'd actually considered them, but said I'd splash out a little bit more.
I've decided to leave the 7A-MAs alone and where they belong (in the kitchen in case I need them for my iPod) ;)

Here's what I'm going with after much soul searching

The wavemasters are just as good from what I can see for about half the price. Those amazon ones will have a delivery charge.

Same frequency range and only 10w in the difference in total output power. I like the volume control with headphone and mic jack on the wavemaster as well.
