Review of Kenneally Jewellers Limerick

Just found this subforum and was most perturbed to see this place recommended in the sticky above. I had a very negative experience there. I went in with my Mum's watch and I was told it needed extensive repairs and given an estimate of around €50. Luckily I went elsewhere and all it needed was a new battery costing around €5. Went back to Kenneally's for an explanation and was fobbed off with some excuse from the owner that it was all his son's fault.

By all means go there if you want but I'd advise getting a second opinion before paying out a large amount. I do apologise for being a little vague as it was some time ago. Just wanted to give a more balanced view than the one-sided glowing review in the sticky. I'd recommend trying somewhere more reputable in Limerick such as Keanes or Matthew Stephens.

Sounds like they estimated for a service, miscommunication I'd say.

Must say that my experience in Kenneallys was excellent - the chap really knew his stuff. he was pleasant and helpful and the prices were very good.

I'm sorry to hear you had a problem, but perhaps its an isolated incident. €50 sounds about right for a service - which may well be needed. What type of watch etc?

I'm sure the gys in Kenneallys would be disappointed to see that you felt they weren't reputable - they've been in business for some time I believe......

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Since when do extensive repairs only cost €50? :)

Just for anyone reading this thread in the present time...........SNIP Overpriced for a start. Secondly, the service is appalling and they take no responsibility for any of their items not being up to scratch. They blame the customer for items breaking even though it's due to their poor quality and faulty repairs in the first place. They ruined my experience and every time I look at my engagement ring I am reminded of the awful service I have received to date! Go somewhere you are appreciated as a customer and where there is some bit of 'warranty' with your item. Once you step foot outside the door of this place with your item your warranty is up! I've received more warranty on a carton of milk!

Nothing to do with the Jewellers in the thread title, or watches for that matter. Don't post another like this again please.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
