Quick Question - Another New Bike

Just a quick question, I've narrowed my search down to the following bikes:

Giant Defy 1 (bike to work) about €730 - leaving about €320 for a wheel upgrade.

    or

Canyon Roadlite AL 6.0 (not allowed to order it through scheme) - €1057

I know both are highly rated - is the Road-lite worth the extra €300 for full 105 components and better wheels/tyres?

I hope to put the order through tomorrow and finally get back on the road in the next couple of weeks.

The Canyon is out of stock (in my size) until mid May at the earliest

Would I get away with a large frame (58cm) - Height 5'11 Inseam 32.5?- seems to be similar to Giant Defy medium/large geometry?

If not looks like I'll be sticking with Giant.

58 is too big for you in my opinion, but thats just me, I am 6ft 1 and a 56 frame is a little big for me, I've had to alter both bikes I own with a shorter stem and putting the seat forward.

    I'm 5'11 and a bit (181cm) and had a 58, it was too big and now I'm on a 56.
56 is most likely the correct size, don't settle for anything else.

Much as I like Giant I'd wait for the Canyon if I had to make this decision. If you need to get something quickly buy a secondhand off Boards / Adverts for €500 and sell it for what you paid when the Canyon arrives.

Yeah..thinking of doing this..buying a frame from Ribble and using the spare parts from my crashed bike to get it up and running.

I had my heart set on the Canyon so I should be able to wait 7 weeks in order to end up with the right bike (eventually).
