    I recently moved from an iphone to android. My question is, Do I need security software on the phone and if so are what the best free solutions.

    No you don't just make sure you don't download anything dodgy and you read the permissions

    I've never bothered either. Just don't download new apps you don't trust would be my advice. Some have antivirus stuff installed but I don't and I've been an android user for 3 years with no issues.
