Pc Speakers

Not sure if here is the right place, but i thought it kind of fits!

I am looking to buy a set of speakers for my PC. Probably 2.1 as the room is not well set up for 5.1

I have just moved house, previously I was using the AUX input of a stereo, but its a bit big and I literally never used the stereo part of it all so i think it might be a good time to get some dedicated speakers. The new room is reasonably small.

I have a €100 voucher for PC world or Currys so ideally they would come from there. Unless there is something else that is exceptional value I would prefer to use that.

I have a pair of 5.1 headphones that I would use for gaming so this would mainly be for a bit of music or maybe watching a movie (I wouldnt even be using the speakers all the time)

They dont have an awful lot on their website though:

    Logitech LS21
    Price: €30

Pros: I like the look of this, looks a nice tidy size. Also think that remote thing is a great idea (how practical it is I dont know). Cheap.

Cons: It isn't that powerful (but maybe its powerful enough). Reviews on Amazon are only ok.

    SANDSTROM SBS2112
    Price: €65
    000996.jpg
    link
Pros: Bluetooth feature is pretty nice, although im not sure how much I'd use it. Spec wise it seems pretty powerful

Cons: Reviews on UK pc world are mixed. "Slight hum when not in use" is a real concern. Pretty pricey for a DSG brand.

    JBL Creature III
    Price: €60
    342091.jpg
    link
Pros: Got pretty good reviews. Unusual looking. seems pretty small. Seems heavily reduced.

Cons: Weird looking! Might not be in stock.

Anyone have any experience with the above speakers or anything similar?

    Thanks

I had the LS21 they weren't a bad set but they are nothing special. The remote is very handy and my new set has one too. It's one of the things I'll be looking for one on any future speakers I buy. Other than that I can't offer you much advice.

I have the logitech Z523. VERY Impressive for the money, would highly recommend them.

Thanks for the links guys but I think I'm going to go with the LS21. As I have the voucher I just cant justify spending money on something that I will use very rarely. If any of the ones you linked to were in Currys I'd go for them but they have a fairly limited selection. I went into Pc world last night and they have very little

TBH I was pretty sure one if not both of those stores had shut down or gone into receivership (at least they disappeared out of Cork as quick as a winning mentality in anIrish Match) :D

The LS21 will do a good job for the money spent.

Got the LS21 today. Seem pretty good value for money. Suit perfectly for me anyways (this room is quite small though)

    Thanks

I got the logitech LS21's today due to this thread. Thanks!

The sound quality is very good and the subwoofer definitely helps. The remote control thingy is a real bonus.

They're really good at playing electronic music, classical and jazz. I found them a bit weak at the higher notes with some pop songs but that might be because of the mp3 quality of those songs.
