Restore contacts to phone book and call logs

I got a number that I need to use again over the weekend. I saved it as a contact in my phonebook, and dialled the number. When I went to use the number again the next day, I cant find it in my phonebook, and I seem to have wiped my call logs in error.

I tried calling my network to see if they have a log of the call I made, but as I hung up before the call connected they cant see it.

Does anyone know of a way to restore either my phonebook or call logs to a set point in time? Im sure its probably not possible, but any advise would be appreciated.

Im using a Samsung Galaxy S3 on Three if that helps.

    www.google.com/contacts

it could be a case that you are only reading the numbers from the sim instead of the phone/internet.

check the above link and see if its there, if not then check your contact settings for what is displayed or where new numbers are saved.

BTW i think that link is the right one, at work so can't really check!
