As the above states can anyone recommend a holiday for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 2) anywhere in the sun for approx €1000. Hopefully during July or August maybe in Spain or Portugal

I've been looking for free child places but web you checkout it's charging full for the 2 lads!

    Thanks

Seriously 1000 euros not a chance holiday seem very expensive this year.
I was quoted in or around 4k for 2 weeks in tenerife in July for 2+2 . Booked it myself then but still cost 3200

Booked our own holidays last 2 years to Portugal. Albufeira last year and Alvor this year. Flights around 600 both years accommodation for 9 night around 600 BUT we booked in December ! There is no way you will get a package holiday for 4 anywhere near 1000 euro for those months.
    Sorry :(

Myself and the girlfriend were looking at holidays in Croatia with Ryanair in August, return flights working at about 150 for a week each, I'm not sure if its cheaper for kids but for 4 of ye then 600 quid and you can get an apartment for around 400 euro for the week. All you'd need is spending money and from what I heard its dirt cheap over there.

I always believe you get what you pay for you hear people bragging I got a holiday for 300 but there staying in an infested dump in the arsehole of nowhere. Do your research look up the forums and reviews . If your not tied to July or August you might get a bargain when the kids are at school.

Have a look on low cost holidays, I've used them the last 3 years no problems at all. Just had a quick look for you and a week in gran canaria in july for the 4 of you will cost you 1293 staying in the Eden apartments (there fine)

Includes all taxes and charges baggage and transfers.

Remove baggage and transfers and your under 1000.

your budget is very tight, have you checked out the price of flights with ryanair to the different airports in spain/portugal during july/august. have a look here for costs
http://www.skyscanner.ie/ If you could get your flights for about €600, that gives you €400 for accommodation. you could try to stay in a smaller resort, say tavira in the algarve where accommodation isn't as pricey as vilamoura/albufeira
