My sister bought a new nexus 4 phone for me in the UK. I have never used it yet on any network. I am trying to connect to 48. I keep getting the message Sim card locked. Enter Sim pin which I do and I get no response. 48 crew are insisting that it is because my phone is locked. I bought the phone unlocked. AS far as I know…

48 crew are insisting that it is because my phone is locked. I bought the phone unlocked. AS far as I know Nexus 4 alway comes unlocked from Google play store.
This phone works perfectly on the internet and with all apps that I have downloaded when I take the 48 sim card out.

Can an anybody tell me if 48 are correct in telling me that my phone is locked?

All Nexus 4 phones are unlocked. Your best bet is to try a different SIM in it to make sure it isn't just a problem with the actual phone. If a different SIM works get 48 to give you a different one.
