Have seen a few things that I want to make that use Elmers glue or Mod Podge (a homemade version requires white glue) - any idea where I could get white glue here?

Evo-stik wood glue should work, you can get it in any hardware shop.

Thanks Fergal :) Would this work as a sealant though or just to actually glue?

This is a pva glue much the same as elmers glue you can also get a waterproof one if thats any help. If you are looking for a sealant that will also stick things together try TEC7 also available in most hardware shops.
If you can tell me what you are planning make and what materials you want to glue I might be able to come up with other solutions.

    Thanks a mill :)

Looking to make a collage on canvas with card cutouts (ie using a punch) so will need to stick and seal that.

Also looking to write on canvas with glue (a blog had suggested Elmers glue) and then spray/paint over it. And another blog showed how to create coloured glass by mixing Elmers glue and food colouring (I think) and would like to try them out!

I would go with the PVA glue so as it's water based a spray varnish or lacquer can be used over it, the silicon is oil based and might affect the spray. You can also water down the PVA glue and paint a coat of it over your project to seal it up, do a test bit first to make sure it dries clear. Again as it's water based you should have no problem using food colouring to change the colour. The evo-stik is just one make of PVA glue you can get cheeper makes in your local craft shop or hardware.

You can get Mod Podge in almost all the Art & Hobby Shops, In Matt & Gloss. I nearly live there I'm in so often :)
