Are there things you see in ads that totally put you off going to look at a car?

Such as 'Mint' -this word has lost so much meaning it should physically be removed feom the dictionary!

No timewasters, here is a hint.... if someone IS. A timewaster, a genuine timewaster, you think by putting this us you are going to somehow prevent them from actually wasting your time? If anything your bloody egging them on!!!!!

    Any more?

probably, first to see will buy.

i mean, how do they know that the first viewer isn't a timewaster :pac:

those two in particular irk me. Just cos I came to see a car that was 'Mint' and isnt, so therefor i am a timewaster? er...no.

Mint means exactly as it was originally made. Labeling something as mint when it clearly is not is wasting my time. my time is more valuable as i have to go see 4 more 'mint' cars today. you just need to stand on your drive

"Will fly any test". but has no nct. is something that also annoys me. if it is the case then nct, and add €50 to the price.

and "no cash no drive". keep dreaming.

Not so much a phrase but when I click on an ad that has about 5 words in total describing the car, I immediately click out of it. Put in a half decent description FFS!!

Also any ad that has "car for sale" in the make/model section.

Looks terrible on the adverts but for search purposes I can see why its done

i don't understand why people do it even for search purposes.

i mean, skyline, evo, ferrari, lambo, imprezza, altezza, maseratti, cosworth, supra, spaceship, leprachaun, mushroom, dishwasher

in an advert for a daewoo matiz. what person searching for a veyron would be interested in a matiz, or vice versa.

try searching glanza on donedeal, on the first page, out of 14 adverts, 4 of them are glanzas.

I agree, idiots that do this think that someone looking for a 320d bmw will see their ad and change their entire thought procesa and actually buy a 2.5l turbo skylinr or similar!!!!

Its more than annoying, it actually defeats the purpose of search filters in the first place!

    "mint"

    "no textes or priv8 numbrs"

"one lady driver" on very masculine car, being sold by a man.

"Will fly through NCT", just effing NCT it then and sell it after.

'Perfect condition' still irritates me. It's a used car and it's not perfect - what else is the seller lying about?

    "First to see will buy"

    Ad is 246 days old.

The only time in ads that the word "mint" meant "mint" was when I was buying a bike from an importer. There was a few levels. something along the lines of:
Mint, excellent, very good, good, clean.
Clean is what you'd expect, pretty much washed well, few scratches here and there, usually old enough and just worn.
Saw a few mint bikes, they were pretty much like brand new. Very low milage, all dry miles, always garaged etc.
Some of the examples Toyotafanboi posted, it's impossible for a 1998 civic with almost 150k miles on it to be "mint"! You can't have something that old and still be "mint".
I hate abbreivations. You're on the internet, you're not putting an ad in the evening newspaper. It's not 1992.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/4689795

Did this guy really have to write in c/l (central locking). Isn't that a given at this stage?
Now I think of it, I hate all ads

I'd change it to project my Tax.NCT and insurance discs and just open the door and point at the ground when stopped by the Gardai in a proud "What d'ya think of that" kind of way :D

because its a 316i BMW with //msport badges and maybe M3 badges too.
