Samsung Galaxy jamming & shutting down - do I have to buy a new one!!!

Hi,

My Samsung S3 is off everytime I look at it (well mostly) and I am wondering if there is anything I can do to save my phone? I saw the cost is about €650 in the shops!

It seems to freeze when I am on it aswell and the only way I can sort it out is by taking the batteries.

Is there any settings I can change before I lose the phone
I know I can probably send it away but I woud be totally lost without it.

Back up your data and do a factory reset.

If that doesn't work out the phone is covered by warranty and should be repaired by the manufacturer.

Have you tried to factory reset it?

If not, do so.

If it happens again, you could try and install another firmware on it. I had a GS3 that was giving me similar problems and resolved it by changing the firmware.

There's lots of info etc on how to do the above if you just Google it. I'm sure some on here will help also.

Edit: just to clarify, I was on Vodafone's firmware and changed to a generic UK one.

It worked!!!

My data is all gone it's like I have a new phone!

I can't even understand how it worked? The phone was fit for the bin - I'm shocked!

Sometimes an OS can be become corrupted for any number of reasons.

Wouldn't worry too much about the data, you have your phone back

I usually go about installing apps as I need them..it's easier to identify ones that become problematic.
