The Gabba is a great bit of kit, definitely does the job of wind blocking and resisting rain but for cold I might be looking closer at the Mortirolo jacket. In any case give bobshop.de a goggle - one of the few places I've seen the convertible Gabba for sale and the price is decent.

I have lots of castelli kit and find chainreaction hard to beat on price when you factor in postage etc. try the garmin pro team shop as well. Www.slipstreamsports.com. I got a wind stopper jersey from them and it was free postage.

There seems to be a misconception going round (probably fuelled by Castelli)that the Gabba is some sort of super warm jersey. It's not. I have one, and its suitable for a cool, wet spring/autumn day, but its not a warm jersey in itself. It's windproof and shower proof, but I'd say a standard thermal/roubaix winter jersey would be a lot warmer for racing in in the kind of weather we're having now.

I googled "Gabba jersey". How do I put into words the sound of a sharp intake of breath?

I think i have gathered that from most people i spoke to im using it more as an outer layer for over my jersey and base layer.

Gabba jerseys are there to be worn over your jersey instead of big bulky gore tex items that other manufacturers make.
