    Hi

My partner was made reduntant last year after 20 years in the same job

He picked up a part time job pretty quickly and has been there 10 mths (claiming for the 1-2 days in between (depending on shift that week)

This job is coming to an end soon and he will likely be going to JSB until he picks something up

My question is will claiming the Shortime work for the last 10 mths affect his new claim or are they totally separate? So he will get full JSB?

    Thanks in advance

When he finishes the part time work he needs to provide his SW office with his P45 and they will change the claim back to a fully unemployed claim, it will be the same claim just a different category. He will then have to sign monthly and collect the payment at the post Office for the remainder of his JSB. When the claim expires if he has 13 paid contributions after he was 156 days on claim he might re qualify for JSB again. The max time on JSB now will be 9 months.

Your partners claim is for 312 days as he had a current claim before the changes.
