    Hi guys,

Looking for padded fingerless cycling gloves. Needs to have decent padding as i get carpel tunnel after long cycles.
I called into a few shops yesterday and no one seemed to have what i was after.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

if you cant get what you need with gloves alternatively or also look at thinker bar tape which is more cushioned, try and find out what kind of bar tape the softer lads in the cobbled classics use to get through them ;)

I just bought the fizik tape and gel kit so that may help.

I have the same problem. I put pipe insulation under the bar tape, the soft black stuff. I also found that Specialized's gloves have their padding in just the right place, at least their mtb gloves do.

+1 on the Specialized gloves, have both short and full finger road versions and won't be changing from them any time soon.

I picked up a great pair of mitts in Longford. They had Velcro palms, must be a Longford thing :pac:

I can recommend the Pearl Izumi Gel mitts. The gel padding is great, I got 4 years out of my last pair. Half price from:

If you are getting nerve problems it's probably to do with your conditioning, flexibility and position on the bike. So don't expect gloves to magically solve everything (though they might). And like a lot of things bike cycling related, gloves are personal and what suits one person might not suit you.

What bike shops were you in that didn't have suitable cycling gloves???

City centre Dublin shops. Plenty of gloves but no substance to them (thin padding etc). I like the other options others have suggeted although im inclined to hang off/lean on the top of the brake levers too hence looking for gloves too.
I have decent set at the moment and i really notice when i dont wear them. they are getting old now and the name has worn off so just need a replacement set.

Was having a similar problem when I changed gloves recently. Went for something with more padding, but it was actually in the wrong area for the hand position I use most. There is also merit in double checking posture.

Have a quick read of the "fingers" section here. Then again may e of no help at all.
