    Just saw this on TV.

    Steps seem easy enough;
Buy a Kinder Bueno ,ask for a receipt.
    Keep receipt and wrapper
Send both to the FREEPOST address on the Kinder site
Few days later...money in the post :-)

Haven't tried this yet but I will tomorrow.

Is it really worth it for what, 80cent?

Doubt it, but worth it for a laugh.

    Try €1.25 even.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 397 ✭✭Libera

Per T&C's, only cover up to €1...so it might actually cost you a few cent!

Max refund is €1 or £1
How much will I be refunded?

We'll happily refund you the full amount shown on your receipt – up to a maximum cost of £1 or 1 Euro.

I wonder do you get a cheque or a voucher. The postage alone will be more than the bar. A buy one get one free would be better. But I got 8 kit Kat crunchy for €1,20 in tesco. That's a decent promotion

This is why the Germans run Europe. They're so scabby they'd send off for the price of a chocolate bar. We could learn from them

The plastic that came with it was a bonus.

Sure, regardless if it is a cheque or whatever: it is nice to get something back, for free, from a company. I'm still waiting for my cheque from Facebook.

Hello to the 5% of you who got those two jokes.

    I'll get my coat.

Refund is in cash according to the site.

They'll post back €1? A bargain is a bargain, but that is such an odd promotion to be doing.

Kinder eggs are made by Ferrero which is an Italian company.

Would love if everyone in the country availed of this offer.

Would cost them a fortune in logistics, staff cost, and product.

    Stupid offer.

    It's not a stupid offer.
I did it last year. Got my money back.
This promotion attracts people to buy the product for the first time, who then don't bother following through..and this method works
The thread title should say 'Try me Free'

Pack of 3 in Dealz for €1.49

    Pure profit of €1.51 ;)

    Minted.

Its so inefficient compared to a voucher or any other kind of offer though which is probably the reason you never see another company doing this, paying the freepost for the receipt and wrapper then paying the postage back to the customer plus the physical cash in the envelope and all the staff costs in the logistics of doing that? They could have reached way more people for the price of a regular marketing campaign.

could play stupid and just walk out the shop with a bueno then claim i was just cutting out the middle man.

It's one per household. So pick your favourite child.

    Thanks Kinder.

It's so they can limit one per household.

Plenty of other companies do promotions this way, it is a proven method to boost sales and awareness with the consumer. They put the onus on the consumer to do work to get the the reward, which few will do.
If Kinder did not do this promotion, we would not be discussing it on a message-board, thereby further publicising the product.

If you want to post something to make money, go open a rabo direct account, they give you 30 euro with a code. Handiest money ever.

Why does someone always have to come out with this statement in these threads? Getting people to discuss how stupid something is or how annoying an ad is does not equal a successful piece of marketing.

Incorrect, it reminds people about the products existence. Most of us like it also in the first place, it puts it in our mind making it more likely for people to buy it. It's even better for unknown companies as it stimulates awareness. Studies have shown increased sales from bad publicity. This deal may be stupid but it dpesn't makle the product look bad either, everybody fecking loves those bars, now I want one of them!

Has anyone seen the 'Try me Free' promotional bars anywhere?
All I see are regular packaged bars in the shops

Shame you have to send the reciept. Cadbury used to do a great one where you just collected the wrappers. Streets were a lot cleaner for ages
