    The new bronze sculpture that has been erected on the Ballina to Foxford road, just before Hotel Ballina has to be the greatest waste of money in these chaste, austere times. When there are so many local issues such as over crowding in Mayo General, reduced services/resources at Ballina district hospital, emigration, suicide and an overall lack of consumer confidence in the town it is a shame to see this vain development. :eek:

    I am assuming it is of a sophisticated fly fishing rod in full flight. No doubt all the politicians will be taking credit for this one? On second thoughts, maybe not.....they'll get a good kicking if they call to my door for such a waste of money.:mad:
