Next year will be my final year of my degree and I am really interested in primary teaching. I have a few questions and would be greatful if anyone could offer some advice?

Can I become a primary teacher with a psychology degree, or are their core subjects your b/a must be obtained in?

I was looking at the postgrad course in St. Pats, it runs for 18 months, would this qualify you as a primary teacher?

What are the chances of getting accepted? Would other subjects be looked on more favourably than psychology?

    Entry requirments re: degree grade?

Thanks in advance for any info

    deleted rantpost quoted

I don't want to drag the wrath of anyone on me, and I don't want to appear flippant, but it kind of prepares you for what a minority of parents are like - just saying..... what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You have to have a very tough skin to be a teacher.

Do you need a TEFL qualification in order to do the HDip in primary teaching??

No, TEFL has nothing to do with primary teaching.
