Aka Come Socialise with Me starts next Monday on RTE 2

The pilot show was shown last year as part of Format Farm

Great that RTE commissioned a full series of The Takeover - not so great that they commissioned a full series of this too.

Not at all surprising, mind - and it wouldn't be surprising either if, as in the pilot, the participants were even more desperate than the ones on Come Dine With Me.

Is this RTE's take on Come Dine With Me?

Gotta love the irony that you cannot watch this on RTEPlayer with a UK IP address even though it features Belfast (I know I am in the US but even with a bit of DNS magic, RTE's international offering is thin to say the least)

    "I am Psychic slash Medium"

How many times has she mentioned that she is Psychic?

Why would you get naked to "entertain" people?

More like 4 in a bed rip off without the guest house.

I tend to agree about Mona, she was dying to tell everyone that she writes a column for the Sunday Times.

I'd like a little more wine and vodka in it, otherwise it was perfect!

I always get the short end of the stick lads.

I am a full time mature student in my final year at NUIG - never went to college when I was younger.
I changed career paths to learn how to write and half way through 3rd of college The Sunday Times folks offered me a job. Can't say I am not proud of that fact and I really REALLY LOVE my job because it lets me be at home with the kids .. 2 adopted and 2 fostered ...aged 7,8,9 & 11.
I wish they had included that ... But I am ok with being the snooty columnist. Our goal was to highlight Galway as a great city (my hometown) and I think we did a decent job

Terrible voice over - badly written, puerile and corny delivery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,364 ✭✭✭washiskin

What really annoys me about RTE's ham-fisted attempts at light reality TV is the snide voiceovers - Don't Tell The Bride is the same. Since they are coming to the party late in the day it looks even worse that they're looking to the Dave Lambe School of Embarrassing the Contestant for inspiration.

I actually thought this voice over was one of the better ones, much less snide than the DTTB girl

Voice over is sooo ANNOYING! She is not funny at all ! Shut up

That guy spoke for about three minutes and I've no clue what message he wanted to get across.

Lol I like the look of that restaurant! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 381 ✭✭Gorilla Rising

That guy Ibe (?) is a complete and utter idiot.

Peter is a knob - crying in the restaurant FFS.

Eileen seems a monumental head wrecker!

The last couple who's turn it was seem like nice people.

Awful, awful show! Won't be tuning in again!

The Voiceover is shockingly bad too.

Natalie, beautiful girl but lacks common sense. Plans boat trip in six inch heels and a dress, the Shannon/ Lough Ree would cut the face of you at best of times,.. She is not wise!

They only really been on the Roscommon side of Athlone, which would not be the most inviting/appealing.

Poor girl will pay a heavy price for this from a slagging point of view from her future pupils. Very silly of her to do this.

Not an awful lot more on the Westmeath side in fairness unless you're looking for a shopping centre!

Two open shopping centres, one ghost shopping centre and an abandoned multistorey car park... They missed out!!!
