Just wondering my husband won his appeal for disability allowance received a letter during last week, when I rang longford disability office they could not give me much info, said it would be months before he would get anything, went to a local td and they rang and told them 7-8 weeks, that his medical appeal was grand but just have to sort out money side, not sure what he is entitled to after winning this appeal, Any info would be grateful.

Has he been means tested yet?

No not yet, when does that happen

He should be getting back-pay from the application date (or perhaps from the appeal date? - the Longford staff should be able to tell you).
If you can get by until then, there should be a nice fat cheque in the post, eventually.

As he was Self employed he was not entitled to anything in his own name, so I have been claiming for him as a Qualified Adult. He has been sending in sick certs everyweek. Lonford staff were not very helpful.

Well, they probably can't tell you how long it will take to process the application (they _never_ seem to have any clue on this), but they should be able to say whether he will be back-payed from date of application or date of appeal.

Maybe call them again and get a helpful person on the phone. If they say they 'don't know', then I would ask for someone who does know.

Also bear in mind that when his claim is awarded and if it is backdated then there will be an inter scheme adjustment e.g. any monies that were received as an ada on your claim will be offset against backdating.
