Application letter problem

I've just sent off a job application. However I made a small(ish) mistake in the application letter.

    What should I do?

Leave it or send a corrected version?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You dont say what type of error Mango , was it a spelling mistake, wrong employment dates or what?

The rule of thumb (I have owned 2 recruitment agencies ) would be to not send a duplicate letter with corrections. My advice would be to pop an email over to the recipient stating that - you are highly embarrassed but you realise that in your eagerness to apply for the role you made one slight error on your application letter and am sending this email to acknowledge that error and to apologise for it. Finally say that this is in no way shape or form indicative of your regular diligence to detail and that you are extremely keen on the position.

If you sent it via a generic reveruitment@companyname.ie type address, go onto LinkedIn, find the HR Managers name and then send him/her the email

    hope this helps
