Brazil are taking on Italy in a friendly from Switzerland which is being shown live on Setanta Ireland at the moment.

They were meant to being showing a friendly match between Drogheda Utd and Trabzonspor but the match has been called off and they're offering this instead. Pretty good Plan B I must say.

It's 0-0 at present and they have strong teams out. Worth a look.

Brazil: Julio Cesar; Daniel Alves, David Luiz, Dante, Filipe Luis; Fernando, Hernanes; Hulk, Oscar, Neymar; Fred.

Italy: Buffon; Maggio, Barzagli, Bonucci, De Sciglio; De Rossi, Pirlo, Giaccherini; Montolivo; Balotelli, Osvaldo

I'd say Mussolini is turning in his grave seeing the Italian strikeforce tonight.

Probably good for the neutral that Brazil scored first. Might open the game up more.

    2-0 Brazil. Oscar.

That was a lovely counter-attacking goal. Nice work from Neymar.

As much as I was 'dying' to see Drogheda v Trabzonspor, this game is shaping up nicely too! 2-2.

    Pretty decent game so far!

De Scigilo is having one of the best international debut's for a 20 year old defender I've seen in years.

I like the fact that both teams are going for it.

You'd swear it was groundbreaking stuff when the referee played an advantage, prevented a mass brawl apparently :pac:

I know they're famous for it, but it annoyed me continually during the game when an Italian player would go down writhing in agony every time an opposition player made contact. It got to the stage where as soon as you saw the challenge coming in, you knew there was a grass-bound operatic performance just moments away. You can be booked for simulation, it's just a shame you can't be booked for exaggeration.

Creeping into their rugby team too. It truly is the petty, dishonourable behaviour of complete wimps.

Sadly, there's no way to police it, in my opinion. The only thing that will stop a player doing that is the opinion of his peers, and over here it just isn't seen in the same negative light as it is in the developed world.
