Just as the title suggests, what is the recovery time for that injury ?

When I say recovery time I mean after the brake/fracture has healed, how long will it or should it take to strengthen enough to become active again running, cycling and playing football etc ?

Broke mine 5 weeks ago and due to have cast off on Monday. Foot feels like it is getting better, I have been applying limited amount of pressure to it for a few days now.

Anyone with this injury before can offer advice I'd appreciate it.

    Cheers

Your doctor will know. Probably depends on the severity of the break, type of break etc. Also a major factor is getting your Range of motion in your ankle and sufficient strength back in your peroneals, calves and dorsiflexors.

Will you be attending a physio for it?

Thanks for the reply. Not sure about the physio yet, due in the fracture clinic tomorrow to see if its healed and get the cast off.

Its an aircast that comes off every night so for the last 8-10 days I have been rotating my ankle through its full range of motion for about 5mins. Saw some physio exercises on youtube, trying to pick up a pencil with your toes and stuff like that so have been doing those a bit too.

Your physio should give you more exact advice but I broke mine along with me ankle back in the day. The cast came off after 5 weeks, it hurt to walk on for a couple of weeks but not much you can do about that. I presume cycling would be a great non impact exercise especially to start getting back into shape but again physio knows best.
About 3 weeks after the cast came off I jogged very slowly on grass which again hurt like crap but I was told by breaks had healed perfectly so I knew ignoring the pain was ok.
Eventually I went back to playing football too but be really patient, its a contact sport and it'd really really easy to kick the underside of someones boot or just get stood on and you could be back at square one

For the last 4 or 5 nights I've been walking slowly around my room, painfree and unaided with no crutches or aircast on. Hope this means I've healed well and is a good sign for a speedy full recovery.

When your used to being very active, getting laid up for 6 weeks has been torture. I used to cycle to work every day, play football 3 times a week and go jogging once or twice a week so cannot wait to get back at it but will take your advice about being patient, want to avoid another injury as much as possible

I did this years ago when I was 17 - it took 9 weeks to get back running and playing football. It was definitely the worst injury I've ever had in terms of recovery time, it broke my heart.

So your 5 weeks + 2 months sounds about the same. Good luck on getting back to 100%.
