nope, just summer 2013, it will probably premier when BB returns (which is July 14th) to get viewers interested before BB finishes up,

air date was announced with the really ****ing annoying news that it will start when Breaking Bad returns for its final 8 episodes on the 11th of august, like i said they will air it with breaking bad to give it a decent start,

last i checked august is NOT summer,

    Anyone else watch the premier?

Gets straight into it and shows plenty of promise.

I found it sort of alienating. It's a very bleak opening episode. The two leads are about as morally wretched as you can get. As a viewer it's kind of difficult to know where to latch on, no-one is really likable so far.

The acting is mostly good though and the Detroit setting is interesting. Almost post-apocalyptic when you look at it.

I love the original and I'm a big fan of Strong and James and as such this has been one if my most anticipated shows in many a year. Watching the first episode and good as it is you get the impression that it could be so much better. The cast are excellent and the new elements are really well done and its refreshing to have a show with such morally repugnant leads. I love the fact that the leads aren't all that sympathetic, it's a nice change of pace and hopefully means that we won't see characters constantly dogged by the bad things they do.

Loads of chatter today saying the show is heading for the axe.......

Well I've dropped out. A show can be bleak while still having some levity from time to time. LWS just tries too hard. Lennie James overacts the hell out of every scene. Can't stand it. Don't care what happens to anyone in it.

I don't. At least The Wire remembered to give even its most morally dubious characters some relatable qualities.

Catching up on the series and still enjoying it and I do think that the fact that the characters are so unlikeable is interesting. I'm sick and tired of the good cop does bad things for good reasons and it's refreshing to just have horrible people front and center. Now I may grow to hate the show but I'm enjoying it far more than most other new shows this past year.
