    Bankrupt in a week.

I want 8 grand for this audi.

    I'll give you 2.

    Have you got cash now.

    Yeah.

Hold out your hand fellow, you've just bought yourself an audi.

Sounds a bit like like Planet Hollywood - 'celebrities' using their names to cash in on their profile to open another business. Can't see any reason to buy off a Mike Brewer dealership just because his name is over the door.

will only work so long as Edd works for nothing :-)

Bound to fail as mike hasn't a clue. He bought a Fiat Bambino in Italy, brought it home, had Ed slave over it for a week and then sold it for less than 500 profit. No mention of flight cost to Italy, hotel, fuel, ferry etc costs to get it home and then There's never a mention of the labour costs for fixing it up. So if Mike 'Woo Hoooo' Brewer applies the same ethos to his business then it's doomed for failure within weeks of opening.

I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. If he had a sales team who were picking secondhand cars plus a team of mechanics who are happy to fix them up before flogging them off, you could be buying good solid cars where everything is fixed. That is if he uses the model of wheeler dealers.

On a side note, anyone go on to the website looking for a car and see the price of road tax in the UK? 1.8 focus £195 Toyota Aygo £20

In fairness Mike was in sales for years before TV.

He got on TV while selling a car to a director. He was impress with his stories.

I think people are making the mistake that they think the Mike Brewer they see on Wheeler Dealers is the same as Mike Brewer the business man. I would imagine he is no fool and he does have a lot of experience in the motor trade. There is no way he would run a dealership the same way as Wheeler Dealers.

It's a tv show he doesn't need to make a profit. Anything is a bonus. He knows about cars. Id say he'll do fine

    See the stock list? BORING!

I'd say he will do alright though, he knows what he is talking about in the car industry (which is not reflected in Wheeler Dealers which is for entertainment only).

He used to front the advertising of Auto Exchange chain of car supermarkets that sold a lot of ex fleet or rental cars around the country back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He would make the odd guest promotion appearance at one of these places too to drum up business.

As has been said before, they never claim to be operating like a business on wheeler dealers. They do it to show what a diyer at home might be able to do. They also do include labour for items that they cannot handle in house such as windsceen fitting, reconditioning components or car interiors.
There are many home mechanics who take on such projects, many which are not feasible if you were to allow 50 quid per hour.

Anyone who goes into the motor business nowadays is brave. Best of luck with it Mike. I wish you well with your new business venture. I hope you sell lots of cars, employ lots of mechanics, salespeople etc.

I reckon he's only involved by name, risky opening up motor dealerships in this environment. However he was one of the biggest dealers in 4wd vehicles in the UK a few years back so he would certainly know the business and know it well.

Would you be dealing with Brewer if you went down there to buy a car?? I severely doubt it. Would he even be there?? Not very often I'd imagine.

Can't wait for the first story about somebody bitching about a lemon bought from here. Will be comical.
