I was wondering would anyone here be able to help me out with some advice. I was on a VTOS course for 2 years, that finished up in June of last year, I was means tested, and told by the social welfare that I am not entitled to any payment from them as my wife is earning over the required amount ( just about ) as you can imagine things are fairly tight, I was wondering is there any way around this.

    Thanks Mike.

Basically your only other options are a FAS course, or a CE scheme. BTEA was an option but changes have been made and now you only get what ever payment you were getting on JSA while at college.

Thanks for the reply wmpdd3, it is the same thing with Fas now too, seemingly they changed that in the last budget.

Oh, I didnt realise that, I know of people who were getting €100 due to their age and getting €200 while studying in FAS but they may have gotten their place after Jan 1st.
