    Hi all.

I put 30 euro of petrol into my 1.2 corsa about a week and a half ago and have been driving on that since.

the car has done 125 miles since and is now touching the red on the gauge.

is 125 miles good for 30 euro with the price at €1.58 on a 1.2?

the driving was town/ back road driving, stopping and starting quite abit and then engine only just warmed up fully before i get to my destination each day.

    What ya reckon?

    That's 30 mpg.

Whether that's ok depends on the type of use and the driving style.

That's 29.7 MPG, give or take (unless I made a mess of the calcs.), and not bad for pottering.

Seems about right, but the only way to know for sure it to fill the tank to the brim, do a weeks driving and fill again and work out from there the amount of fuel used.
Mrs. TGi usually gets 120 to €20 in her 1.0 106 and her driving is usually short distances like yourself

Thanks lads. Off to Donegal on Saturday driving from Ashbourne to Donegal town. around 160 miles.

Motorway to Cavan nearly then its the wide roads to Enniskillen then on the B roads to Donegal town.

If i filled the tank up before i left 46 litres, how much of a tank should i be expecting to have once i arrive?

I get 320 miles to a tank in my 1.2 Corsa, that's 35mpg. It's an auto, which drops efficiency a bit. You're probably in very heavy stop/start traffic or have a heavy right foot, OP.

How can you not have a heavy right foot in a 1.2 :D

Good point, but I've tried to reel it back ever since an incident involving too much power around a corner in the wet.

so you reckon i should have well over half a tank if i drive carefully and not heavy foot by the time i reach Donegal?

Id get about that from my Integra; Id be expecting to be getting (quite) a bit better from a 1.2 Corsa tbh.

Ive an 03 punto, If I stay on 100 or under I get 48MPG on the motorway. If I go more than 100 the engine is struggling and only get around 30MPG. Its some difference

its 5 miles each way and twice a day. A little bit of town driving then stopping and starting at traffic lights etc etc.

I have a black 1.4 corolla and I put €20 petrol in it today, and 4 squares lit up on the dial.

I drove to town this morning with the heater on, I'll drive home tonight with the heater off, but the lights on. Would that be about 1 square on the dial, or less even?
